Roald Dahl Day - Tuesday 13th of September
13th September 2016 sees the biggest celebration of Roald Dahl’s birthday as it marks 100 years since he was born. In school, we will be celebrating through our work in English lessons and will be creating a display of Roald Dahl inspired writing on the main board in the entrance.
On Tuesday 13th September, children and adults are invited to dress as a character from a Roald Dahl story or rhyme. Costumes can be very simple, with just a hint of the character and should be suitable to be worn all day, with sensible shoes. Dressing up is optional and if children choose not to, they should wear school uniform as normal.
Please help your child to understand a little about the character they choose so that they may share some of their characteristics when talking to their peers about who they are dressed as.
In the meantime, enjoy as many Roald Dahl stories as you can with your child or head to the Roald Dahl Day website for more fun and games.
We look forward to a creative week.
