School Newsletter 18th December 2015
Dear Parents and Carers,
Christmas is nearly upon us once more and the staff at Kirby Hill School have worked very hard, as always, to make sure it has been an exciting and enjoyable time for the children in school. The children have been busy too as they have been preparing to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
I hope everyone enjoyed both the Early Years and KS1 Nativities 'Shine Star Shine' and 'Children from Around the World'. The children thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and I am sure you will agree they were wonderful!
Christingle is always a special service, thank you so much for supporting this. As always, every seat in the church was taken. I would like to say a special thank you to the children from Temple and Priory classes who participated in the service as their contribution was appreciated by us all.
Once again Teamstar have had a very busy 'season'. They have sung a huge range of carols and Christmas songs at Church, Community Carols at Coronation Hall, sung alongside Boroughbridge Community Choir in concert and still have one more performance at Ripon Cathedral this Saturday evening 19th December! Many thanks to Mrs Gudgeon and Mrs Montgomery for their commitment and enthusiasm.
For those of us who had a school lunch on Wednesday, we all enjoyed a very tasty meal. Thank you to Cook and all the lunchtime staff for their hard work, efficiency and organisation. It was wonderful to see the variety of Christmas jumpers on Christmas Lunch day too; we raised £51 in aid of ITV's Text Santa Appeal. Thank you everyone!
Altar and New Furniture
Many thanks to the School Trustees Rev. Askew, Mrs Moulton and Mr Widdows for their continuing support for school. We are very grateful for the additional resources they provide for school.
Our school website is updated on a regular basis for recent up to date school information. Newsletters and curriculum newsletters are also available on the school website.
Swimming and PTA
Today is the last swimming session of the term. Thank you to the PTA for their financial contribution towards the swimming costs. Many thanks to a committed team for all their hard work this term.
