School Newsletter 21 September 2015

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome
Welcome back to the new school year at Kirby Hill C of E Primary School. I hope everyone had a lovely holiday. The children have returned to school looking smart and ready to learn. We are all looking forward to working with you over the next year.

A special welcome goes out to our new children and their parents/carers. We hope you will have many happy years here.
The focus across the school for the month of September is friendship and we aim to extend our friendship to all members of the school community.

Staffing
We are also delighted to welcome Miss Allan to our school as Y5/6 teacher of Temple Class.
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Davis as they welcome Henry to their family. Wonderful news!

Walking Home
I am aware of an incident in Ripon last week where a suspected abduction took place. We all need to be vigilant at all times and school would prefer children to walk home with a friend at the end of the school day if you are unable to collect them. Please let the school office know should this be the case. We have also reminded the children in school today that if their adult is not at the turning circle to collect them they should come back up to school.

Website
Please remember we have an interesting and informative website where you can find out information about the school, get copies of letters and see photographs of the school in action.

PTA
Many thanks to the PTA members who attended the AGM last Thursday, we are very grateful to the team who work so hard to fundraise for the benefit of all the children in school. The PTA allocates each class £150 towards a school visit in addition to the £1000 contribution towards swimming each year.
A special thank you to the officers on the PTA team, Mrs Bosomworth, Mrs Pullan and Mrs Webb.
If you would like to help on the PTA please contact one of the PTA members or let the School Office know.

Macmillan
This year we thought we’d try something different to fundraise for Macmillan Nurses and wear green in support of the charity this Friday. We would be very grateful for a donation of £1 per child for this very worthwhile cause.
Our School Council will also be selling small cakes to the children at morning break on Friday so if you could send in baked goods to sell that would be wonderful.

We look forward to a successful school year and once again welcome to the Kirby Hill School family.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs V Farby
