We Are Bert - Author Visit

In May, pupils enjoyed a truly inspiring morning with Lorraine and Andy Laverton from We Are Bert Ltd.

Lorraine, the talented author, captivated everyone with a reading of her fabulous new book, while Andy, the artist and creator of the robots, introduced us to their brilliant cast of characters and revealed the fascinating origins of the parts they are made from.

The visit was a wonderful example of how dreams can become reality through creativity and perseverance. Even more excitingly, Lorraine took inspiration from the children’s imaginative ideas to create a brand-new story just for us — Weetbert and the Rainbow Reef.

We are so grateful to Lorraine and Andy for sharing their time, talents, and passion with our school community.

As part of their visit, Lorraine invited the children to help her write her next book - created exclusively for the pupils of Kirby Hill C of E Primary School in North Yorkshire. The result was Weebert and the Rainbow Reef, inspired by the children’s incredible imagination. Their wonderful ideas helped Weebert dive into a colourful ocean adventure filled with creativity and fun! 🐠🤖🌊
