CSI at Kirby Hill
Children at Kirby Hill CE Primary School had a real treat last week when they had their own version of CSI – at school!
Pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 spent the morning learning the skills needed to collect evidence from a crime scene. Using authentic equipment, they were able to collect and analyse finger prints, footprints, hairs and fibres from themselves and their friends.
In the afternoon, they got a chance to put their new skills to the test! Dressing up in their Scene of Crime Officer outfits, they entered the school hall to find that they were in a crime scene! In teams, the pupils needed to use all of their new-found skills and knowledge to gather and analyse clues that would lead them to a suspect.
Although not all teams got the right suspect, everyone agreed that they had an amazing day of ‘hands-on’ science that they will remember for a long time!
